Jamshedpur, July 6: One Ramesh Gupta of Adarshnagar, Sonari, was allegedly assaulted by his neighbour Suraj Harpal on Wednesday after he resisted the latter’s bid to harass his wife. He was taken to MGM Hospital for first aid after which he complained against the accused to Sonari police and SSP M Tamil Vanan.
Gupta alleged that Harpal had threatened him to withdraw the complaint case and had attacked him in anger. He said the accused had assaulted him with a stone in a pre-planned manner. He said the entire incident had been captured in a CCTV camera installed near the place of occurrence.
One arrested for insurance fraud
Jamshedpur, July 6: Patamada police arrested one Rakesh Karmakar for allegedly duping several local villagers in the name of collecting insurance premium from them. One Rajaram Murmu of Jhunjhka village of Patamada has lodged a police complaint against the accused in this connection, police said.
