Jamshedpur, Oct 28: Three people were reported Covid-19 positive in Jamshedpur taking the total active cases in the city to 24. One case each was reported from Sakchi, Telco and Parsudih. With sudden rise in cases, health department is on its toes and started screening of patients.
Civil Surgeon Dr. AK Lal informed that 5300 samples were collected on Thursday of which 5211 were tested.
Two positive cases have come up against 1587 RTPCR test. Of the 265 TrueNat samples tested 1 was found positive.
With Diwali and Chhath round the corner people need to be extra cautious else it might prove to be super spreader.
The Coronavirus tally in Jamshedpur has risen to 51986.
With four fresh recoveries on Thursday, a total number of 50,903 patients have been discharged since the breakout while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 24.
Recovery rate is 97.92% while mortality rate is 2.04 %.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 651176 tests per million in the district.
So far in Jamshedpur 1742538 samples have been collected out of which 1733430 have been tested and 1681444 have turned out to be negative. One death has been recorded in October due to the virus.
Vaccination at 116 centres of East Singhbhum today
Covid-19 vaccination will be held in 27 centres in urban areas and 89 centers in rural areas. In view of rise in infection the ongoing festive season, efforts are being made by health department to vaccinate 100 percent eligible beneficiaries in the district. Senior in-charge Vaccination Cell-cum-SDM Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena said that people need to remain safe from Coronavirus specially during the festive season. He appealed all citizens to take first dose of vaccine to keep oneself safe from infection.
