Jamshedpur, Oct 28: The National Finals of Fr. George Hess Memorial ASISC Quiz was held on October 24th. The Loyola School team after surmounting tough challenges in the Zonal, Regional, National Semi-Final rounds did not look back as it glittered its way past the Grand, and Finale encounter. In the process, the Loyola boys added another feather to the school’s over stacked cap of glory as Prahlad Nair in the Junior category and Prem Ansh Sinha in the Seniors finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the national final.
At the Zonals of the Junior Category, Prahlad Nair finished 2nd and represented the Zone at the Regionals where he comfortably won and qualified for the National Semi-Finals. He finished second at the Semi-Finals and qualified for the National Finals where the contest went on till the last question. He answered the last question correctly to lead his school to a National Quiz Victory for the first time.
Prem Ansh Sinha too went through the same rounds for the Senior Category. He came first in all the qualifiers with a huge margin. At the Regionals, he qualified for the Semi-Finals by getting 5/6 questions right on the buzzer in the final round. The Semi-Finals was completely dominated by his exemplary quizzing performance. The ASISC National Finale was a close contest where he lost the first position by 5 points and finished 2nd.
It was a special moment for Loyola in their Platinum Jubilee Year. The Moderators of the GK Club, Loyola Reena Joshi and Anthony Rodrigues were absolutely delighted at this double whammy.
Fr. Pius Fernandes, Principal of the School and Jayanthi Sheshadri, Vice-Principal congratulated Prahlad and Prem for their glittering wins. It’s also worthwhile to note that the Quiz Team of GK Club, Loyola hasn’t lost a single outing this year.
