Jamshedpur, Sept 14: Former Jharkhand MLA Khiru Mahto has been nominated as JD-U Jharkhand State President and Dhanbad resident Gulab Mahto as State Vice President. The announcement was made by the party’s national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh at JD-U’s high command office in Delhi. Leaders and members of the Jamshedpur Janata Dal-U unit have expressed their elatyion over the announcements and congratulated Khiru Mahto and Gulab Mahto for their nomination to the state’s highest party posts.
Former state general secretary of the party, Kaushal Kumar said that with Khiru Mahto being made the state president, the party would gain in strength in entire Jharkhand including Jamshedpur. He said that the National President had nominated Khiru Mahto after evaluating and assessing his political acumen. The JD-U leaders and members who joined the celebrations included Yogesh Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Paramjit Srivastava, Amit Kumar Singh, Sunny Sahab, Monisha, Sanjay Rai, Vishram, Arun, Ranjit, Shiv Charan Mahto, Smriti Kant Singh, Ashok Singh, Baiju Sinha, Shankar Singh and Shankar Chaurasia.
