Jamshedpur, Jan 7: Two groups of villagers clashed violently in Mukhiadanga under MGM police station area on the first day of the year. The incident was reported after six days.

According to sources, one of the groups accused the other of assault while the other accused the former of snatching gold chain from them. Police have registered an FIR in this connection and begun an investigation into the incident.

Sonu Pandey of Mukhiadanga said he was at his house at 7 pm when Rohit Gorai, Rahul Kumar, Arun Kumar and one more person barged inside and assaulted him. He said the accused persons had abused him and snatched the gold chain from him.
