Jamshedpur, Oct 15: Sitaramdera police arrested Chandra Das, teacher of Shardamani Girls High School, Sakchi, for allegedly forcing a class 9 girl of her school during exam and forwarded her to judicial custody on Saturday evening.
Police arrested the teacher after a ruckus created by members of Mukhi community following self-immolation attempt by the girl who was allegedly humiliated by Chandra who was on invigilation duty during science exam on Friday. Sitaramdera police registered a case against Das on the information of the alleged victim. The girl in her statement said the teacher had forced her to remove her clothes before the other students which led her to attempt self-immolation.
The accused teacher denied the allegations and said she was only doing her duty at the school. She said the alleged victim was caught cheating twice on Friday. After first warning, she was taken to the Principal on the information of her friends, she said.
