Jamshedpur, July 31: Jamshedpur Police apprehended Deepak Chaudhary alias Teka Chaudhary and Abhishek Singh alias Bittu Singh in connection with the murder of criminal, Amarnath Singh, a resident of Krishna Nagar, Mango Gaur Basti, Jamshedpur. The arrests were made as the police received confidential information that the two criminals were heading from Jamshedpur to Kolkata, carrying weapons and live ammunition.
Deepak Kumar Chaudhary, a resident of Ulidih Aastha Space Town, and Abhishek Singh, from Gadhabasa Bagbeda, were taken into custody by police team led by MGM station in-charge Raju. During the investigation, officers noticed suspicious behavior from the two suspects aboard a passenger bus named Sai, bound for Kolkata. Subsequently, a search operation was conducted, leading to the recovery of a country-made pistol and six live cartridges – three from each of the arrested individuals.
Both Deepak Chaudhary and Abhishek Singh have confessed to the murder of Amarnath Singh at Basukinath Dham Dumka. In addition to facing charges related to attempted murder and robbery, Deepak Chaudhary, aka Teka Chaudhary, has also been booked under the Arms Act.
Following the discovery of their involvement in the murder case and the possession of illegal weapons, the police have taken appropriate action, and the accused have been sent to jail. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the investigation of the Amarnath Singh murder case.
It may be noted that Amarnath Singh, a dreaded gangster, wanted in at least 30 criminal cases, was shot dead near a temple in Jharkhand’s Dumka district in the early hours of July 28 by men who were dressed as ‘kanwariyas’.
Amarnath Singh, a resident of Jamshedpur, went to Basukinath temple in Dumka along with his family to offer obeisance in the holy month of ‘Shravan’ when the gunmen shot him from point blank range. Around 30-40 criminal cases were pending against Singh, most of which were registered in Jamshedpur.
