Double Down Pub Attack: Pratyush Battles for Life in Kolkata with 21 Deep Wounds

 Jamshedpur: Pratyush Singh, a resident of Adityapur who was critically injured in the brutal attack outside DD Pub & Bar in Bistupur, continues to battle for his life at Apollo Hospital in Kolkata, where doctors have placed him under intensive medical supervision.

According to hospital sources, Pratyush sustained 21 deep wounds caused by a chapar, a heavy cleaver-like weapon, during the assault. Given the extent of his injuries, doctors have kept him under constant observation and described the next 72 hours as crucial for his recovery.

Medical reports indicate that Pratyush suffered multiple blows to his head, arms, back and several other parts of his body. After receiving emergency treatment at Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur, he was referred to Apollo Hospital in Kolkata for advanced medical care. A team of specialists is monitoring his condition round the clock.

Hospital authorities said that although his condition remains serious, it is presently under control. Doctors are closely tracking his progress and providing intensive treatment to manage the multiple traumatic injuries.

The incident has taken a more serious turn following the death of Himanshu Singh, who had also sustained grievous injuries in the same attack. Police have already arrested several accused persons in connection with the case and are continuing raids to apprehend those still absconding. Investigators are examining the sequence of events and the motive behind the attack from multiple angles.

The shocking assault reportedly took place outside DD Bar in Bistupur, where assailants allegedly attacked Himanshu Singh and Pratyush Singh with chapars in full public view despite the presence of police personnel nearby. Himanshu later succumbed to his injuries during treatment, triggering widespread outrage and demands for stringent action against those responsible.

Pratyush’s family members and close acquaintances remain in constant contact with doctors at the Kolkata hospital, hoping that he overcomes the critical phase and recovers from the life-threatening injuries. Police officials have reiterated that efforts are underway to ensure that all those involved in the attack are brought to justice.
