Jamshedpur, April 2: A hearing was held in the court of CJM Jamshedpur Nishant Kumar on Monday in the case of gangster Akhilesh Singh keeping benami property.
During this, the accused in the case Akhilesh Singh and wife Garima Singh were produced. Akhilesh Singh joined from Dumka Jail through VC, while Garima Singh remained physically present. Both of them declared themselves innocent before the court and said that they were unnecessarily being implicated in this case.
Advocates Vidya Singh and Prakash Jha are appearing on behalf of Akhilesh Singh. Police had received information that Akhilesh Singh has a flat in Shrishti Garden of Birsanagar which is in the name of someone else. The police raided the said flat from where the police got many documents related to the land. On March 29, 2017, the police had registered a benami property case through papers.
