Jamshedpur: Police have arrested four individuals involved in the April 22 firing incident near Ghaghidih Jail gate under Parsudih police station. City SP Kumar Shivashish informed the media that the arrested accused confessed to their involvement during interrogation. On the day of the incident, bike-borne miscreants fired shots in the air and fled the scene. Acting on a complaint by jail authorities, a special investigation team was formed under SSP Kishore Kaushal’s direction. The team arrested Ganesh Karmakar and Avinash Kumar from Turiabeda (under MGM police station), Saurabh Singh alias Tode from Golpahadi and Raju Maurya from Kadma. Police recovered a country-made pistol, an empty cartridge, a Hero Splendor bike used in the crime and the clothes worn during the incident. Saurabh Singh also faces two criminal cases at Sitaramdera Police Station. All four have been sent to judicial custody.
