Jamshedpur food-grain retailers to join agitation from Feb 20

Jamshedpur, Feb 18: Retail foodgrain shops of the city would remain closed from 20th February onwards. This was announced by traders at a meeting held in Naya Bazar, Jugsalai, on Saturday.

The traders discussed further strategy for the ongoing agitation against Mandi tax. They said the agitation would continue till the state government does not withdraw the Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing Bill 2022. Foodgrain traders of Sakchi, Golmuri and other parts of the city also held meetings on the issue of agitation. They unanimously decided to lend support to the indefinite bandh called by them. Today was the fourth day of the agitation. Shops at Parsudih Mandi remained closed in protest of the two per cent Mandi tax.
