Jamshedpur FC Reserves share spoils in stalemate against Classic FA

Shillong, December 9: Jamshedpur FC Reserves played out a 1-1 draw against Classic Football Academy in a crucial Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) clash at Shillong. Both teams now have seven points, with Classic FA retaining the top spot on goal difference.

The first half was a tightly contested affair with limited chances. Jamshedpur’s defensive duo of Kartik and Sital remained resolute, denying Classic FA any clear opportunities. The breakthrough for Jamshedpur came in the 42nd minute when Rohan Singh made a fine run and passed to Amzard, who found Remson on the right. Remson’s near-post strike gave Jamshedpur a deserved lead. Just before halftime, Puia attempted a long shot with the goalkeeper off his line but narrowly missed the target.

The second half began with Jamshedpur pushing to double their lead. In the 50th minute, Puia’s shot from the edge of the box, following excellent interplay between Marjit and Zuala, was saved by the Classic FA goalkeeper. Despite controlling much of the possession, Jamshedpur couldn’t capitalise on several promising opportunities.

Against the run of play, Classic FA equalised in the 83rd minute. A free kick from the edge of the box struck the crossbar, and Punit Thangjam reacted quickest to slot home the rebound. Jamshedpur pressed for a winner in the closing stages, with Puia and Amzard both coming close, but their efforts missed the target.

Jamshedpur FC face Todo FC in their next match on 11 th December.
