Jamshedpur Durga Puja: No restriction on Bhog distribution, tweets Banna Gupta

Jamshedpur, Oct 4: Politics over distribution of Bhog during Durga Puja in city refuses to die down.  A day after Durga Puja committees in Jamshedpur decided not to follow the state government’s guidelines regarding Bhog, Health Minister and Jamshedpur MLA Banna Gupta in an attempt to quell the controversy, clarified about earlier guidelines regarding Bhog distribution issued by the Jharkhand government on September 16, 2021.

Taking to Twitter Health Minister said, “Point no. 16 of the guideline issued by the state government on September 16 clearly states that there is no restriction on home delivery of Prasad. Therefore, we should end this impasse and start preparations to worship Goddess Durga and we must all pray to Maa Gauri to make Jharkhand Covid-19 free.”

Point no. 16 of the guideline clearly mentions that No community feast/ Prasad or Bhog distribution function shall be organized. There is no restriction on home delivery of Prasad.

It is worth mentioning that on Sunday a meeting of Durga Puja committees was held under the banner of Abhay Singh’s patronage Nagrik Suvidha Manch. About 170 Durga Puja committee representatives attend the meet. Abhay Singh has refused to follow the orders of the state government regarding bhog distribution during Durga Puja. During the meeting Abhay Singh said, “We will prepare Bhog, will eat and also distribute bhog among the devotees.
