Jamshedpur, Sept 19: The Bhumi Pujan (ground breaking ceremony) for the construction of Durga Puja pandal at Haat Bazaar in Govindpur was performed on Tuesday, in accordance with traditional rituals. Zila Parishad President Bari Murmu, Vice President Pankaj Sinha, Zila Parshad Dr Paritosh Singh, social worker Harish Singh and Asutosh Singh of the Central Durga Puja Committee, among others, were present on the occasion.
This year, the committee has chosen to construct the pandal using Hugla leaves, skilfully crafted by artisans from West Bengal. The main attraction of the puja festivities will be Bhog distribution and Garba dance presented by women.
