Police recover their mutilated bodies on railway tracks

Jamshedpur, May 8: Police recovered the mutilated bodies of a couple from the railway tracks between Dhalbhumgarh and Kokpara railway stations on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Laxman Soren, resident of Char Chakka, and Salma Kisku, resident of Ulda village of Dhalbhumgarh.

Police suspect it to be a case of suicide by the couple. Salma was a class IX student of Narsinghgarh High School. She had set out of her home on Friday last to take her exams. Since then, she was missing. Her family members were searching for him everywhere but to no avail, sources said.

Police said the bodies were found lying on the tracks near Up Line pole no 196 behind Loyola School. They also recovered Salma’s school bag, her identity card, admit card and few other documents from the scene. Laxman’s mobile phone, Aadhar card and few other articles were also recovered by police.

Hikim Kisku, elder brother of Salma, told cops the couple wanted to marry each other, but their relationship was not approved by their respective families as they were closely related to each other. Several meetings were held in their villages to denounce the incestuous relationship between Laxman and Salma, Hikim told police.

Salma’s father Meghrai Kisku said his daughter had returned to Dhalbhumgarh Chowk after taking her exams on Friday. Thereafter, there was no trace of Salma. This morning, police informed us that Salma and Laxman were found dead near the tracks, he said.
