Jamshedpur: Acting swiftly on a complaint regarding defective bicycles distributed under the Bicycle Distribution Scheme, Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi took immediate cognizance of the matter and formed a two-member investigation team.
The team, comprising District Welfare Officer Shankaracharya Samad and Block Development Officer, Jamshedpur Sadar, Sumit Prakash, found that 10 girl students from Tata Workers Union School, Kadma, had received bicycles that were not in a rideable condition.
Following the investigation, the defective bicycles were promptly replaced with new ones. The contractor responsible has been strictly instructed to prevent such lapses in the future and to remove any defective bicycles from stock immediately.
Deputy Commissioner Satyarthi emphasized that ensuring quality bicycle distribution is the responsibility of both the contractor and departmental officials. He further warned that strict action would be taken in case of any future negligence.
This swift administrative response highlights the commitment of East Singhbhum officials to ensuring smooth and effective implementation of government welfare schemes.
