Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi interacted with citizens from various parts of the district during the Public Grievance Redressal Day held at the Collectorate office on Friday. The initiative, described as interactive and solution-oriented, saw the submission of applications on a wide range of personal and community issues.

People raised matters such as road encroachment, domestic violence, land disputes, construction of drains, rural road damage due to heavy rains, demands for police outposts, direct recruitment of Chowkidars from the sports quota, investigation of recruitment exam results, pension and land rent grievances, ration card errors, and concerns regarding Ayushman card benefits. Some also sought fee waivers and assistance in sending family members to old age homes.
The Deputy Commissioner gave patient hearing to each applicant and directed the concerned departmental officials to take prompt and fair action. He emphasised that listening to citizens is not merely a formality but a core responsibility of the administration. “The resolution of every legitimate complaint is our priority,” he added.
Special attention was given to the grievances of Divyangs, senior citizens and women, with several cases disposed of on the spot. Instructions were issued for regular monitoring of pending applications and fixing accountability in case of delays or repeated complaints.
Officials were urged to ensure that every application received during the programme is acted upon without undue delay, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to responsive governance.
