Jamshedpur DC expresses concern over delayed housing projects

Jamshedpur: A district-level coordination committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal at the Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur. The meeting focused on reviewing the latest progress and achievements of welfare schemes across all departments and emphasized the importance of mutual coordination to expedite development work. During the meeting, progress reports from the block administration regarding the implementation of schemes in their respective areas were reviewed. All concerned officials were instructed to ensure that schemes are completed with transparency, adherence to provisions, and within the stipulated timeframes.

In the review of the Abua Awas Yojana, officials were directed to release the second installment to beneficiaries who have been geo-tagged after receiving the first installment. Concerns were raised over the construction delay of around 200 houses in Potka and Chakulia, and the block administration was instructed to commence construction immediately. The progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin and Ambedkar Awas Yojana was reviewed. Directions were given to release the first installment to beneficiaries of PM Janman to kick-start the projects.

Regarding MNREGA, instructions were issued to increase man-days creation by implementing 5-6 schemes in each village. The Birsa Harit Gram initiative was given a deadline of August 5 to complete 100% pit digging, and blocks were urged to expedite the construction of Birsa irrigation wells. For the Poto Ho Playground scheme, officials were directed to secure 100% approval against the target, level Gram Panchayat grounds, and utilize school grounds under the scheme.

In the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, instructions were given to submit applications by matching school/college data with the voter list, aiming to distribute the scheme amount to beneficiaries by August 15. It was directed that all applied Anganwadi centers should be electrified within 20 days. CDPOs were instructed to submit applications for non-electrified centers promptly, and COs were tasked with checking and allotting land for Anganwadi and health sub-centers.

The review of the Sarvajan Pension Yojana addressed data on failed payments due to bank account errors, urging beneficiaries to update Aadhaar seeding and KYC with their banks. Information was gathered on the infrastructure of Panchayat buildings, and the Panchayat Gyan Kendra (Library) was directed to be inaugurated between August 1-5 in the presence of public representatives.

In the review of agriculture and animal husbandry schemes, departmental officials and BDOs were instructed to open ESCROW bank accounts for animal husbandry scheme beneficiaries and identify land for a 100 MT warehouse under the Cooperative Department’s scheme. Instructions were given to expedite food grain distribution, update stock registers, and enforce strict checks on monthly physical inspection registers. Actions were directed against ration shopkeepers distributing less ration and slow progress in lifting and distributing gram dal.

A list of schools without electricity was requested from the Education Department. It was noted that Aadhaar cards for about 300 children were pending due to the lack of birth certificates, and coordination with school principals was directed to resolve this issue. COs were directed to provide land for health sub-center construction, ensure availability of anti-snake bite medicines in all CHCs, and inspect malnutrition treatment centers. Applications for the Chief Minister’s Health Assistance Scheme were to be maximized.
