Record 190 corona cases in a single day in Jharkhand, tally nears 4000
Ranchi/Jamshedpur, July 13: Jharkhand on Monday, July 13 recorded 190 coronavirus cases the highest in a single day in the state.
Coronavirus cases in Jharkhand are nearing 4000 mark with 190 new cases reported on Monday. �With new cases the state tally has risen to 3964.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has reached 672. With 6 new cases reported on Monday, July 13, the total cases in East Singhbhum district stands at 672. July 7 saw maximum cases being reported in single day in Jamshedpur with 58 positives. Earlier 43 cases came up on May 30 while July 2 recorded 45 cases in a single day.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 6 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Monday while 12 people have recovered and were discharged from TMH and MGM Hospital COVID-19 ward.
Of the 6 new positives on Monday, 2 persons have travel history while 4 persons came in contact with other COVID patients.
1 person has returned from Kolkata while 1 has come back from Ahmedabad.
Of the new positives in Jamshedpur, 1 person is a resident of Bistupur, 1 Agrico, 2 Mango, 1 Golmuri and 1 Hume Pipe Road.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 1, Chatra 2, Deoghar 20, Dhanbad 6, Garhwa 5, Giridih 6, Godda 2, Hazaribagh 39, Jamtara 2, Khunti 1, Koderma 6, Lohardaga 4, Pakur 20, Palamu 2, Ramgarh 20, Ranchi 40, Sahebganj 2, Simdega 3, West Singhbhum 3 taking the state corona tally to 3964.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 1579 and fatalities at 33 while 2351 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2240 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 672 cases out of a total of 3964. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
