Jamshedpur, Feb 14: In a move to modernize policing, 980 police officers of the East Singhbhum District Police will undergo hi-tech training through the I-GOT Karmayogi portal. The training will cover 8 DSPs, 40 inspectors, 332 sub-inspectors (SIs) and 600 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), all of whom must register on the portal within 15 days. It is mandatory for all investigating officers to complete the six-course training by watching instructional videos after registering on the portal.
To oversee the implementation, DSP (Law and Order) Akram Raza has been appointed as the nodal officer, along with Major Bandhu Devgam from Golmuri Police Lines and former Jugsalai SHO Nityanand Prasad. The training program was officially launched by Jharkhand ADG (Technology and Modernization) Suman Gupta at the State Police Headquarters, where he emphasized the need for a special campaign to ensure 100% registration and training completion. Following this directive, SSP Kishore Kaushal held a meeting with the DSPs and outlined the registration and training process, instructing all station heads to ensure compliance.
The training will cover six key areas, including the code of conduct for government employees, prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace, use of new technology in policing, cybersecurity measures, orientation under Mission Life and yoga breaks for stress management. To support this initiative, the state government has sanctioned ₹25,000 per officer for the purchase of mobile devices equipped with the e-Evidence App, which will help officers collect and manage digital evidence efficiently. Officers have been instructed to buy a smartphone worth ₹25,000, submit the bill to their superiors and claim reimbursement.
SSP Kishore Kaushal reiterated that all 980 police officers must register on the I-GOT Karmayogi portal by February 23 and complete their mandatory training. The DSP will oversee the progress to ensure full participation and implementation of the program.
