Jamshedpur Congress protests ED attitude, BJP politics, says ready for jail

Jamshedpur, June 17: In continuation of its unabated attacks on the Narendra Modi government, the Congress has been protesting against the ED’s attitude while questioning the party’s national leader Rahul Gandhi on the National Herald issue. The East Singhbhum District Congress Committee organized a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Friday, June 17 against the ED’s attitude towards the party’s national leader Rahul Gandhi and the party’s alleged dirty politics being played by BJP. In the National Herald case, the Congress is constantly attacking the Narendra Modi government at the Center for the action of ED’s questioning of Congress national leader Rahul Gandhi.

The District Congress organized a peaceful protest on Friday at the District Collectorate accusing Narendra Modi and Amit Shah of unnecessarily targeting Rahul Gandhi. The Congress District President Bijay Khan warned, “Congress will take to the streets and oppose the dirty politics being played by BJP. Congress workers prepared to go to jail. The time has come now to rescue Indians from the vicious grip of the BJP. A plan has been hatched to forcibly harass our national leader Rahul Gandhi through the doctored negative attitude of the ED.”

Senior Congress leader Sardar Baldev Singh said that the central government was trying to tarnish the reputation of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and the party’s national leader Rahul Gandhi. He said, “The harassment ploy adopted by the central government against our national leaders is a move to cover its failure by misusing central agencies like the ED.” Ansar Khan stated that the Congress party, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi had been raising the voice of the people strongly against the failure of the central government and would continue to do so. He said that there was nothing that the Congress could not fight against. If any person or party tried to shake the pillars of democracy, the Congress will be up in arms to destroy such motives.

 Youth Congress State General Secretary Rakesh Sahu said, “The Modi government is targeting Rahul Gandhi to divert the attention of the people from issues like unemployment and inflation. It cares two hoots about the tenets of the Constitution and under this current central government, democracy is in grave danger. The entire nation is watching what the misdeeds of the BJP government. The countrymen are biding their time and when the moment arrives they will give a befitting reply to the Modi government.”

Many Congressmen including Guddu Gupta, Ramashray Prasad, Bipin Thakur, Brajendra Tiwari, Manoj Jha, Prabhat Thakur, Jyoti Mishra, KK Shukla, Usha Yadav, Aparna Guha, Akhilesh Singh Yadav, who were present on the occasion, said that the National Herald newspaper was founded by the Congress party.

During the heritage and freedom movement, the British imposed restrictions from 1942 to 1945.

Later, to save the families of National Herald workers from starvation, Rahul Gandhi provided Rs 74 crore to these employees of the National Herald. Speakers during the Congress protest on Friday said that the move to defame and harass Congress leaders in the garb of ED interrogations at the behest of the central government was a tactic in bad taste. Jitendra Singh, Babua Jha, Ishwar Singh, Atul Gupta, Baban Shukla, Ajay Mishra, Prabhat Ranjan Srivastava, Sudarshan Tiwari were among many others who were present during the District Congress protest at the District Collectorate office on Friday.
