Supporters raise slogans against BJP leaders arrest
Jamshedpur, April 10: After the arson and subsequent unrest at Shastrinagar in Kadma on Sunday evening , district police arrested BJP leader Abhay Singh along with several others for allegedly trying to incite unrest using communal overtones.
Sources said that police sent the leader to jail despite protest by his supporters after getting him medically examined at MGM Hospital.
East Singhbhum SSP Prabhat Kumar along with the team reached the house of BJP leader Abhay Singh in Kasidih at 5 in the morning and when the gate did not open on reaching there, the gate was opened by pulling it. After this the team went to the first floor and immediately arrested Abhay Singh and took him directly to Bistupur police station.
His supporters reached the police station along with Akhara committees and started raising slogans against the police.
Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai reached Bistupur police station, returned after getting Abhay Singh brushed and having breakfast.
MLA Saryu Rai’s fight with BJP leader Abhay Singh was going on for the last several days, but after getting information about the arrest of Abhay Singh, MLA Saryu Rai himself reached Bishtupur police station. The atmosphere heated up suddenly with the arrival of MLA Saryu Rai. The police also swung into action. MLA Saryu Rai tried to ask the officials present there how and why Abhay Singh was arrested. But no one was ready to give a satisfactory answer. During this, he gave BJP leader Abhay Singh the right of police custody and said how his right is not being given. On this he was given to brush his teeth and go to the bathroom.
MLA Saryu Rai talked about giving full support to Abhay Singh here, after which he returned. He termed the police action as wrong. BJP leader Abhay Singh was arrested in Bistupur police station. But there were no big leaders of BJP.
Meanwhile, in the presence of Jamshedpur city SP Shankar, he was taken out of the police station and sent to jail in a closed vehicle. While taking them in a closed vehicle, the workers blocked the road. People were lying down on the road too. Later, showing strictness, the road was cleared by the police and they were taken to MGM Hospital. He was sent to jail after his medical examination at MGM Hospital.
A case has already been filed against Abhay Singh. Apart from this, there is also a warrant against him. But this time he was sent to jail on the charge of inciting the crowd in Shastri Nagar. A case of rioting has been filed against him.
