Jamshedpur Co-operative College to host 7-Day FDP on Yoga and Meditation

Jamshedpur, June 19: In a significant endeavor, the Jamshedpur Co-operative College, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Yoga and Management, Haryana, is organizing a seven-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) for the first time from June 21 to 27. The program aims to provide training in yoga and meditation, as mandated by the new education policy. Dr. Amar Singh, the Principal of the college, announced the program, highlighting its significance in aligning with the evolving educational landscape.

The Faculty Development Program will take place on the premises of Co-operative College and is open to all interested participants. However, registration on a first-come-first-served basis has been implemented due to limited availability of space. Approximately 50 teachers from various institutions, including Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial College, Graduate College, and other colleges, are expected to participate in this enriching program.

Dr. Amar Singh emphasized the importance of yoga and meditation in fostering holistic development and well-being, particularly for educators. Under the new education policy, it is now mandatory for teachers to undergo training in these practices. The seven-day Faculty Development Program serves as an avenue for teachers to acquire essential knowledge and skills in yoga and meditation, enabling them to integrate these practices into their teaching methodologies effectively. The inaugural ceremony of the faculty development program will be graced by the esteemed presence of Manoj Kumar, Kolhan Commissioner cum Vice-Chancellor of Kolhan University, as the chief guest. The program aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and skill enhancement, facilitating an immersive learning experience for the participants.
