Jamshedpur: Blood Donation Camp at Sonari Spreads Message of Environmental Protection and Road Safety

Jamshedpur: A blood donation camp organised jointly by Upkaar Sangh and the Sonari Thana Committee concluded successfully at the Upkaar Sangh premises. The camp collected a total of 141 units of blood, reflecting strong community participation and social commitment.

To encourage blood donors, certificates were presented to each participant. In a unique initiative linking social awareness with public safety, helmets were also distributed to donors along with messages on road safety. Throughout the day, visiting dignitaries further reinforced the theme of environmental conservation by watering plants in the premises, symbolising collective responsibility towards nature. The event thus conveyed a strong message on both road safety and environmental protection.

The camp was formally inaugurated at 9 am by senior citizens from the community, including residents of Kanan Kuti, Shankar Master, Guharam, Shyam Lal Sahu and Govind, along with Upkaar Sangh patron and Sonari Thana Committee secretary advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu, and journalist and social worker Anni Amrita.

Among the prominent guests who attended the programme were District Transport Officer Dhananjay Kumar, Amit Kumar, CCR DSP Manoj Thakur, Sakchi police station in-charge Anand Mishra, MLA Mangal Kalindi, former BJP district president Dinesh Sahu, journalist Kulvinder Singh and others. The guests encouraged blood donors, distributed certificates and helmets, and appreciated the organisers for combining social service with awareness initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu said that the objective of the camp was to ensure the timely availability of blood for patients in need and to promote awareness about voluntary blood donation. He added that Upkaar Sangh has always been at the forefront of social service and continues to expand its activities for public welfare. Upkaar Sangh president Satpal expressed happiness over the success of the camp, stating that the collected blood would help save lives, which is a deeply satisfying outcome.

The successful organisation of the camp was supported by Upkaar Sangh members including Satpal Sahu, Ashok Verma, Narendra Kumar Sahu, Vishwakarma Verma, Umashankar Sharma, Kanhaiya Yadav, Hemant Sahu, Rajeev Verma, Jai Patel, Balkrishna Sahu, Raju Agrawal and Basant Sahu. Members of the Sonari Thana Committee, including Pradeep Lal Haridas, Ashok Singh, Abhay Kumar, Arvind Singh, Satish Sharma, Sarvesh Prasad, D Boss, Subodh Prasad, Gopal Mahato, Rahul Bhattacharya, Bhola Das, and Raju Verma, also played a significant role. President of the Mahila Sahu Samaj, Jai Sahu, was present during the programme.
