Jamshedpur: Backward Classes Commission member convenes review meeting, orders early execution of cases

Jamshedpur, Sep 9: Member of State Backward Classes Commission Rajendra Prasad in a meeting with the district authorities ordered speedy execution of cases related to the backward classes.

He presided over a review meeting with Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, Deputy Development Commissioner Pradeep Prasad, SDO Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Saurabh Sinha, SDO Ghatshila.

The member of the commission also sought data related to the population of backward classes. Prasad instructed the officials to issue OBC, SC/ST/caste certificate, residential certificates immediately.

He sought information about the block-wise applications received so far with regard to issue of certificates and cancellation of applications. Prasad also asked the circle officers to keep the geographical situation of the state in mind. The people are very straightforward and simple and officers must work with a sense of service.

On this, the Circle Officers said that caste certificate and residential certificate are issued from time to time. All the circle officers also submitted their reports in this regard.

Prasad also took information about the progress of Mukhyamantri Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST and OBC students by the Welfare Department. He also reviewed the status of backward classes of the district in schemes like KCC, PM Awas, Ambedkar Awas etc. and gave necessary directions.
 
It may be mentioned that OBCs from different areas of Jharkhand state have applied to the commission and have said that due to non-production of OBC residential caste certificates on time, they are not able to apply to the advertisements that come out for government jobs and enrollment of schools, colleges.
