Jamshedpur, Feb 17: An anti-encroachment campaign was launched in Ramjanamnagar locality under Kadma police station area on Thursday. It received vehement protest by several local residents who claimed to have been residing on the said land for the last several years.

They raised slogans in support of their claims and condemned the action.

Executive magistrate Ravindra Gagrai was deployed on behalf of district administration. He said encroachment was also removed earlier. When the protestors were asked to produce documents in support of their claim, they showed documents related to ongoing cases in the local civil court, he said.

A quick response team was sent to control the situation in Ramjanamnagar. Several people protesting at the scene were detained by the QRT.
