Jamshedpur, Feb 24: The district administration has tightened its belt to fight Coronavirus. After a 10-member of a family was found corona positive, vigil has been increased. “ We are spreading awareness among people. We have found 10 positive cases of Corona in a family. We need to be alert just the same. We have conducted a review meeting and have asked the health officials concerned to keep an eye,” said official.
The health department said it is important people to clean hands frequently with alcohol based sanitizer or soap in running water for at least 20 seconds scrubbing all parts of both the hands properly. They should cover their face while sneezing or coughing. He noted that common symptoms of novel coronavirus are running nose, sore throat, dry cough, fever, tiredness and difficulty breathing. Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, and sore throat.
He said that residents should not leave their homes unnecessarily, if it’s urgent they need to go out then they must use masks, as well as wash hands with soap and sanitiser at regular intervals.He added that shops should allow only a limited number of customers into the premises at a time. “Social distancing is a need of the hour and we shall enforce it,” he added. He also denied possibilities of community transfer at present. However, he added that people need to be alert. “People visiting shops, banks, offices, and establishments — all of them are already aware of precautions to be taken, if they do not implement mask wearing and ensure safe distance, the city police will initiate legal action. This has already started,” said the official.
He called upon the people to enforce wearing masks and social distancing in public spaces. He urged citizens to enforce mask wearing and social distancing. Orders have also been issued to identify shops or market places that are inviting crowds and not paying heed to the safety norms.
The official said that the district administration was taking all appropriate steps after COVID-19 patients were found in the city. He instructed all the social and business organisations of the district to maintain social distancing and get others to follow it.
Amid the surge of COVID-19 cases in the district, an official said the district administration is also spreading awareness in the society in an attempt to make people aware of the importance of social distancing and wearing a mask. Drives on mask distribution, sanitation are being conducted. Even the public address system is being used to educate people.
