Jamshedpur, May 8: In a significant development following the verdict in the JPLE case, the district administration, in collaboration with Tata Steel, executed a successful operation to reclaim 5400 square feet of land from encroachment within the premises of Sakchi Institute of Engineers. With the assistance of two bulldozers, encroached structures were demolished, marking a pivotal moment in reclaiming public property.

Prior to the operation, a notice was issued by the SDO office, mandating the removal of encroachment constructions carried out by Om Prakash Singh in New Plot No. 4909, Ward 7 JNAC. Despite a request for a two-day grace period, the administration proceeded with the action in adherence to the court order stemming from the JPLE case verdict.

SDO Parul Singh oversaw the operation, deputing Jamshedpur zonal CI Abhishek Kumar and an assistant engineer for the demolition task. Tata Steel Senior Land Manager Sunil Singh, along with personnel from Sakchi police station and armed forces, provided support on-site.

According to records from Tata Steel and the District Administration, Om Prakash Singh’s father, despite retirement, was found to be encroaching upon the 5400 square feet of leased land. Om Prakash Singh had utilized the area for commercial purposes, erecting tents and warehouses.

  1. Encroachers aren’t only encroaching for their own household use but as well sell those encroached JPLA land at hefty price to naive buyers assuring they will help manage local administrations dictates.
