Jamshedpur, Sep 28: Several people were injured when a tractor carrying stone chips entered the tent of local villagers protesting in support of their various demands at Chandil Dam Road on Wednesday.
The injured were taken to Chandil Sub-divisional Hospital where they were referred to MGM Hospital and Tata Main Hospital.
Those seriously injured were identified as Nirmal Mahato, Niranjan Mahato, Rakesh Mahato and Rinku Mahato.
Sources said the protestors from 116 villages, displaced by the Swarnarekha Multi-purpose Project, were sitting inside a tent on fast unto death to demand compensation and other benefits.
Just then the tractor carrying construction material to Chandil entered the tent and ran over those sitting inside.
