Jamshedpur: 50-100 bed hostels, open gym, and sports ground at ITI Ghatshila

Jamshedpur: District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal conducted an inspection tour in Ghatshila subdivision, focusing on the Employment Office cum Model Career Center, Skill Center, and Industrial Training Institute (ITI). During the visit, he reviewed the facilities including the counselor room, computer lab, and library at the career center, emphasizing the need to transform it into an ideal hub for unemployed youth.

He directed officials to provide resources such as competitive exam preparation materials in the library and ensure a single-window system for training and employment. Highlighting the presence of numerous private companies in East Singhbhum and surrounding districts, he urged proactive efforts to place trained youth in suitable jobs. Instructions were also given to display bilingual career charts (Hindi and English) and coordinate with the District Education Officer to install these charts in schools, aiding students in career planning post-class 10.

At the Skill Center, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with trainees under the Birsa Yojana and the Chief Minister’s Sarathi Scheme, guiding them on leveraging government schemes like CMEMP and PMEGP to establish self-employment ventures. He emphasized the importance of completing training with a mindset to create opportunities not just for themselves but for others as well.

During the ITI inspection,  Mittal reviewed the ongoing workshop construction and instructed for its timely completion. He also proposed the construction of hostels with 50 beds for girls and 100 beds for boys, along with an open gym and a sports ground within the ITI premises. Concluding the visit, he planted saplings to promote environmental conservation.

Sub-Divisional Officer Sunil Chandra, Employment Officer Chetan Kumar Sharma, Jamshedpur Employment Officer Arvind Kumar, ITI Principal, and other officials were present during the visit.
