Jamshedpur, July 22: J.H. Tarapore School celebrated International Chess Day with a special ceremony in the school premises. The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony and the felicitation of the school’s Chess Coach, Chandan Kumar Prasad, who has recently become an International Arbiter. The felicitation was led by the School’s Principal, Lata Sharat, Vice Principal Rukshana H.Gardin, and Coordinator Anahita F. Zarolia.
During the event, Principal Lata Sharat highlighted the benefits of playing chess, stating that it develops intelligence and aids in overall progress. She emphasized that chess contributes to intellectual, academic, and mental development.

The event was attended by the School’s Head Sports Coordinator, V. Arun Kumar, Sports Teacher, Ekta Mandal, Coaches Ananto Santra, and D.P. Balmiki, along with Office Administration members Giridhar Gopal, Neelanjana Sarkar Ghosh, Yasoda Nayak, Satish Kumar Sharma, Vinit Kumar, and Yogesh Kumar.
The school community congratulated Chandan Kumar Prasad on his achievement and expressed their support and appreciation for his contributions to the school’s chess program.
