Ghatshila, Mar 11: Bringing joy to passengers and locals, the Ispat Express made a historic stop at Galudih railway station on Monday, marking the first time in four years. This initiative was spearheaded by MP Vidyutvaran Mahato, eliciting a warm reception from the community. Galudih BJP workers extended a hearty welcome to the train’s driver, M Dubey, and assistant driver, M Sharma, adorning them with flower garlands.
The scheduled stop for train number 12871-72 will now occur at Galudih up line on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, while the down line stop is slated for 2:35 pm on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. This development is particularly significant as there was no direct train from Galudih to Howrah, making the resumption of the Ispat Express stop a cause for celebration.
During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, both train stoppages were suspended from March 2020. Now, after four years, the Ispat Express has finally resumed its halt at Galudih, alleviating the difficulties faced by residents of various areas in the absence of direct train services. The event saw the presence of key figures such as ACM AK Singh, AEEG H Khan, Station Manager TR Murmu, CCI Santosh Chakraborty, and several others who joined the celebration.
