Jamshedpur, Mar 11: In response to low employee interest, Tata Steel Down Stream Products Limited (TSDPL) has extended the application deadline for its Job Scheme from February 15 to March 31. Originally set to conclude on March 15, the management took this step to encourage more participation among its workforce.
Despite issuing a circular urging employees to avail the benefits of the scheme between February 15 and March 15, the response was minimal, with only two or three applications received thus far. The management had aimed to extend the scheme’s benefits to at least 50 employees.
The scheme entails offering a job to a dependent (son, daughter, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law in the absence of a son or daughter) after the employee leaves the job. During the training period, a monthly allowance of Rs 16 thousand will be provided to the dependent, and the employee will receive a monthly sum of Rs 16 thousand until retirement.
