Jamshedpur: An international conference on “Next Generation Galvanized and Color Coatings (GalvaNext-2026)” will begin on January 8 at Hotel Vivanta, Golmuri, bringing together experts, researchers, and industry professionals from India and abroad. The two-day event is being jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) – Jamshedpur Chapter, Tata Steel Limited (TSL), and CSIR–National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), and will continue till January 9.
The conference aims to provide a common platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaboration in the field of hot dip coatings. Discussions during the event will focus on galvanized products, coating processes, emerging technologies, and current industry challenges, with special emphasis on sustainability and future-ready solutions.
More than 300 delegates and speakers from over 70 organisations across the country and overseas are participating in the conference. Over 70 technical papers, including plenary talks and keynote lectures, are scheduled across 10 technical sessions. In addition, two dedicated panel discussion sessions have been planned to deliberate on technological innovations, strategic direction, operational challenges, and long-term vision for the galvanized and color-coated steel industry.
Experts from leading national and international institutions such as the International Zinc Association, American Precoat Group, ArcelorMittal, TangSteel HBIS (China), Swansea University (UK), Ecole Centrale Paris (France), Harvard (USA), IITs, NIT Rourkela, JSW Steel, Danieli, Primetals, CSIR-NML, and Tata Steel, among many others, are sharing insights during the event.
The conference is expected to play a key role in promoting advanced technologies and sustainable practices to support the growth and global competitiveness of the Indian galvanized steel industry.
