Jamshedpur, Nov 12: Monitoring of noise, air, and water pollution will be intensified during Diwali at more than ten locations in the city, including Adityapur. Machines will be installed in prominent areas such as Sakchi and Bistupur roundabouts, Adityapur Indira Chowk, Bistupur Voltas Building, Silent Zone TMH, MGM Hospital, and near the New Court in Golmuri.

In residential areas, the acceptable levels of noise pollution are set at 55 decibels during the day and 45 decibels at night. In silent zones, the limit is 40 decibels.

Water quality will also be examined in areas surrounding Kharkai, Subarnarekha River, and down streams, including residential areas.

Air quality during Diwali, when bursting or lighting firecrackers are prevalent, will be assessed, and the impact on air purity will be observed. The Air Quality Index (AQI) will also be monitored during the festival with the support of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC), and Jugsalai Municipality. Checks will be conducted on air, water, and noise pollution during Diwali. Planning to mitigate the impact of Diwali and prevent pollution will be of crucial importance.
