3rd CSIR-NML Jamshedpur Platinum Jubilee Lecture
Jamshedpur, March 26: Prof. S. K. Kawatra, Chair and Professor at Michigan Technological University, USA, and Editor-in-Chief of the SCI Journal Mineral Processing & Extractive Metallurgy Reviews, visited CSIR-NML on March 25. Renowned for his contributions to mineral processing, Prof. Kawatra has received numerous awards and honors.
As part of CSIR-NML’s yearlong platinum jubilee celebrations, which commenced in November 2024, Prof. Kawatra delivered the third platinum jubilee lecture at the NML auditorium. The event was attended by scientists, technical staff, students, and researchers from CSIR-NML, along with faculty members, young students, and invited guests.
Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, Director, CSIR-NML, welcomed the audience and introduced Prof. Kawatra as the keynote speaker. During his lecture, Prof. Kawatra emphasized the significance of innovation in iron ore processing, highlighting various pioneering ideas and strategies he has implemented in the field. His insights were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience throughout the session.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. V. C. Srivastava, Chief Scientist, who expressed gratitude to Prof. Kawatra for his valuable time and contribution to CSIR-NML’s platinum jubilee celebrations.
