Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) has initiated efforts to establish an industrial park in East Singhbhum and has requested 500 acres of land for the project. JIADA MD Prerna Dixit has written to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ananya Mittal, urging the identification and transfer of suitable land to facilitate industrial development in the district.
The Jharkhand government aims to create industrial parks across all districts to provide infrastructure support to industries. “The government wants to offer land to entrepreneurs on easy terms, which will not only promote industrialization but also generate employment for youth and women, thereby improving their standard of living,” stated MD Prerna Dixit in the letter. Officials are currently scouting land in Bodam and Gudabanda, with expectations that 500 acres of government land will be found within these two blocks.
Previous efforts to develop an industrial area in Musabani were unsuccessful due to local opposition. JIADA had earlier identified land in the Tetla village of Potka, transferring 54 acres for industrial use, but resistance from locals stalled progress. Despite this, JIADA has sent a proposal to headquarters for providing basic infrastructure and electricity in Tetla. Officials believe that if suitable land is secured in Bodam or Gudabanda, it could pave the way for industrial growth, economic upliftment and overall development in these remote areas.
