If voted to power, we will form a Woman wing in Chamber : Sandeep Murarka

Jamshedpur, Sept 20: The road to Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) election heats up after final list of contesting candidates was announced on Saturday, September 19.

The ruling and opposition till Sunday were seen campaigning, holding press meet and meeting the traders for support in the September 22 polls. On Sunday morning, Sandeep Murarka, who is vying for the post of Vice-President (Industry) as an independent candidate along with Ashok Bhalotia (Suresh Sonthalia group) and Nirak Kr. Mishra of Team Parivartan expressed confidence about winning the polls.

Addressing a press conference, Murarka said, If I come to power the first thing I would do is to form a woman wing in chamber and encourage woman participation which has been neglected by the Chamber till now.

The whole country is talking about woman empowerment but the oldest trade body of the state doesnt have a woman wing, Murarka said adding that there are several woman entrepreneurs in Jamshedpur including Smita Parikh, Padma Shri Premlata Agarwal is also from Business background and by encouraging their participation we may see innovative work culture.

Sandeep Murarka was of the opinion that there shouldnt be factionalism in Chamber as we are not fighting an assembly election its only for the welfare of traders. He further said, Industry wing of the chamber led by Ashok Bhalotia has been a failure and not a single work has been done in the last 2 years by this wing.

Though Suresh Sonthalia and team have worked smoothly during their tenure and were seen standing with the traders at any point of difficulty.

Murarka who is the director of a Steel company said, Like Make in India we would start Make in Jharkhand to benefit the business houses in the state. Compared to other state of India, Jharkhand only has one Industry Director and if voted to power we would ask the state government to appoint two directors one for MSME and other for big industries, added Murarka.

Present at the press meet Anant Kumar Saraiwala said, its high time and young entrepreneurs should be given a chance to lead the chamber and people who have been sitting in the posts for several years should pave way for younger generation to take over.

It may be noted that the election for 11 Office bearers will be held on September 22 from 12 pm to 5 pm. were a total of 1380 members will cast their vote.
