Jamshedpur, Feb. 9: Women of Hitku panchayat under the Jamshedpur block will not have to burn coal and wood to cook food.
107 women living near the Hitku Hanuman Mandir on Narwa-Sundernagar main road have been provided free LPG cylinder and gas stove under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
On the occasion Zilla Parishad chairperson Bulu Rani Singh said, the poor and deprived women beneficiaries of Kadma, Kedo, Rugdadih, Khukadih, Godadih under Hitku panchayat were provided LPG cylinder and gas stove. The remaining 100 beneficiaries will be provided gas cylinder and stoves.
After getting the LPF cylinder and stoves, the women seemed very happy and after this they will not have to cook food on coal and wood which is very harmful for their lungs and not have to go to the forest to collect woods.
Also present at the event were mukhiya Shankhi Murmu, Sanjay Mahato, Shivani Singh and others.
