Jamshedpur, Nov 6: After several representations and rejoinders by Jamshedpur citizens to Prof Bejon Kumar Mishra, an international consumer policy expert and founder of Consumer Guidance Society (CGSJ) to activate consumer awareness initiatives in the state of Jharkhand, a meeting of the Advisory Board was convened on Sunday, November 6. It was unanimously agreed to appoint Himadri Sarkar the Resident Director of CGSJ with immediate effect. He will work in the interest of the consumers of Jharkhand from Jamshedpur.
Himadri Sarkar, an eminent writer, has been working in the cause of citizens for more than four decades and is also a self made entrepreneur with leadership potential was informed about his selection by Professor Bejon Kumar Mishra. Sarkar, in response, remarked, “This is a great responsibility given to me by my close friend Bejon. I am used to face challenges and resolve them and obviously, I will accept this responsibility and strive to give off my best.”
The newly appointed CGSJ Resident Director accepted, “I completely agree with the fact that Jharkhand needs a strong consumer awareness campaign and what can be better than Jamshedpur to launch the campaign in the region and state? In fact, the movement was initiated by Prof Bejon Mishra in 1983 and now, for his practical abilities and foresightedness, he is considered a global expert on consumer protection and awareness. I feel proud to be a part of this team to further strengthen these activities in the state of Jharkhand.”
