Jamshedpur to host 15th Jharkhand Senior Swimming Championship today

Jamshedpur: The 15th Jharkhand Senior State Swimming Championship will be held on Monday at the iconic JRD Tata Sports Complex, with around 150 swimmers from across the state participating in the prestigious event. Organized by the East Singhbhum District Swimming Association, the championship features a total of 34 events for both men and women.

Association secretary Firoz Khan said the competition began at 8 am and will play a crucial role in selecting swimmers for the Jharkhand team for the upcoming Senior National Swimming Championship. A meeting of the organizing committee and technical officials was also held on Sunday to review preparations for the event.

The East Singhbhum district team for the championship has also been announced. Yuvraj Patel has been appointed as the team coach.

The men’s squad includes Sonesh Mishra, Dipanshu Singh, Digvijay Chauhan, Aditya Singh, Viraj Chaudhary, Atif Hussain, Myukh Mandal, Parimal Mahto, Harshil Daksh, Surya Pratap, Piyush, Omji, Nilesh Mishra, Mohd. Rayan Asad and Priyanshu Gulati. The women’s team comprises Prisha Sharma, Jennifer Sugam, Satakshi Rai, Amrita Rai, Sonal Mishra, Supriya Bharti Tiwari, Richa Sahu and Srijita.
