High Court lifts ban on CI to CO promotions in Revenue Department

Ranchi: In response to the state government’s appeal, the Jharkhand High Court has lifted the ban on promotions from the post of Circle Inspector (CI) to Circle Officer (CO) in the Revenue Department.

The stay on promotions, implemented on September 16, 2021, was withdrawn on Monday by the court of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen. The court directed the state government to initiate the promotion process, with the next hearing scheduled for February.

This decision paves the way for the promotion of approximately 80 Circle Inspectors in Jharkhand who meet all the qualifications for becoming Circle Officers.
