Jamshedpur, June 14: Jharkhand, including Kolhan, continued to grapple with intense heat and scorching temperatures, forcing residents indoors during the afternoon hours. Daltonganj recorded the highest temperature on Friday at 45.2 degrees Celsius, with Jamshedpur reaching a maximum of 43.4 degrees and a minimum of 29.0 degrees. West Singhbhum, Saraikela, and Ranchi recorded temperatures of 41.4, 44.2, and 40.0 degrees Celsius respectively.
As the monsoon remained sluggish, the Meteorological Department forecasts its potential arrival by June 18.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Saturday for heatwave conditions in Garhwa, Palamu, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Saraikela Kharsawan districts. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for Koderma, Chatra, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, and Simdega districts.
