Jamshedpur, May 28: Following Cyclone Remal, Jharkhand, including Kolhan, experienced rapid weather changes, leading to scorching heat on Tuesday, making conditions unbearable for the residents. Daltonganj recorded the highest temperature at a sweltering 47.5 degrees Celsius, nearing the record of 47.8 degrees set on May 6, 1978. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur recorded a temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius, with West Singhbhum at 43.3 degrees and Seraikela at 42.2 degrees.

Dr. Abhishek Anand from the Meteorological Department Ranchi Centre issued a severe heat and heatwave alert for the state for the next three days. Temperatures are expected to rise by three to five degrees, with severe heat waves predicted in Garhwa, Palamu, and Chatra districts on May 29 and 30. Yellow alerts for heatwaves are in place for Koderma, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Gumla, Khunti, Simdega, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Seraikela. Additionally, Gumla, Palamu, Chatra, and Latehar may experience heatwaves on May 31.
