Jamshedpur: A hardcore Maoist, was arrested by the security forces during a search operation at the forest area under Gudri police station area of West Singhbhum area. The arrested ultra has been identified as Akash Mundu, 26 and a resident of Kudaburu. The joint operation was carried by Chaibasa Police and the jawans of CoBRA 209.
Superintendent of Police Ajay Linda in a press communiqué informed that acting a tip off the operation was carried. The security forces also recovered four can bombs that were diffused by the team. The forces also recovered pistols, cartridges, magazines and Naxal posters and banners. Police said that the security has been beefed up in the area and they were keeping strict vigil on movement of the Naxlites.
Police have decided to ensure strict vigil and deploy additional security forces in the fringe areas. “Security has been beefed up in the area and they were keeping strict vigil on movement of the Naxalites. The plan is to keep a tab on the camps being operated by ultras,” said another official.
All the police stations in the three districts of the division including East and West Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharswan have been asked to beef up the security and keep a vigil at the bordering areas.
