Haludbani residents threaten stir against school merger

Jamshedpur: Hundreds of residents of Haludbani East panchayat organized a meeting at the local Panchayat Bhavan and registered their protest against the proposed merger of the local Primary School in Tilkagarh. They said the school was very old and that the state government had taken an erroneous decision to merge the school with another school.

The agitators said there are sufficient students currently enrolled in the school, adding further that the school has its own pucca building. They said most of the local residents are tribals whose children cannot go to schools situated far away. They threatened to launch a massive stir in case their demand was not fulfilled.
