Potka: Dr Tibru Majhi, a noted resident of Potka, passed away on Friday last at the age of 76. He breathed his last at his Karandih residence. He was cremated in his native village, Sikda, under Potka block today. Hundreds of villagers and dignitaries were present to pay their last respect to the departed soul. Dr Majhi, an orthopaedic, had retired from Tata Main Hospital from the post of Registrar. He was associated with many tribal and social organizations and was known for philanthropy.
The dignitaries who paid tributes to Dr Majhi included Seraikela MLA Champai Soren, former MLA Surya Singh Besra, Zila Parishad member Sanjeev Sardar, Sudipta Rana, Naresh Kumar Murmu, Meghrai Tudu, Mahesh Murmu, Dil Bahadur, Dr PN Sutradhar, Dr Hiralal Murmu, Dr Sunita Murmu and Sumitra Soren.
