Governor congratulates Jharkhand karatekas for medal haul

Jamshedpur, June 23: Five Jharkhand karatekas who won medals in International B. G. Karate Championship held in Bangladesh, met Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhawan in Ranchi on Wednesday. Karatekas were accompanied by L. Nageshwar Rao, Chief Coach, Tata Steel Karate Training Centre cum Vice President, Karate Association of India.

Governor commended the kids on their achievements. Attributing the success to their sheer hard work, Governor Bais encouraged them to continue working hard to fetch greater success in life and make Jharkhand proud.

Nageshwar Rao who is also the General Secretary of Jharkhand State Karate Do Association thanked Governor for sparing his valuable time with medal winners and encouraging them.

Medal winners includes-Gold medal winner Niraj Kumar (21 years and above) in Black Belt Kata category,

Silver medalist Pranab Paul (18 years and above) in Black Belt Kata Category, Silver medalwinner Karnisha Das Kumar (18 years and above) in Black Belt Kata Category,

Adarsh Kumar Singh (18 years and above) won silver in Black Belt Kata Category,  

Harsh Paul (18 years and above) also won silver medal in Black Belt Kumite Category.

Pranab Paul (18 years and above) won silver medal in Black Belt Kumite Category.

The championship was held at BKSP Sports Village Indoor Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh in which karate teams from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka participated.
