2852 polling personnel across 713 booths for Seraikela LS General Election-2024

Seraikela, May 12: As preparations for the Lok Sabha General Election-2024 reached their peak, polling officials and employees were meticulously deployed to their respective polling stations under the guidance of the District Election Officer.

The polling personnel were briefed by the District Election Officer before their dispatch, ensuring that they were well-informed and prepared for their duties. The dispatch center, situated at Kashi Sahu College, Seraikela, facilitated smooth arrangements for the polling officials.

Polling for the 10-Singhbhum Lok Sabha constituency, 51-Seraikela (ST) Assembly, and 11-Khunti Lok Sabha constituency, 57-Kharsawan (ST) Assembly, is scheduled to commence at 6 am on Sunday. Appointment letters, voting materials, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) were distributed among the employees before they were dispatched to their designated polling stations.

Separate counters were set up at Kashi Sahu College for each assembly constituency, streamlining the distribution process of voting materials. Under the supervision of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla, Superintendent of Police Manish Toppo, and Assistant Electoral Officer of the Assembly, the distribution process commenced early in the morning, ensuring prompt deployment of polling personnel.

The polling parties, accompanied by sector officers and police forces, were dispatched to a total of 713 booths. This included 106 micro observers, 78 sector magistrates, and additional reserve personnel, amounting to a total of 2852 polling personnel.

District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner, Ravi Shankar Shukla, emphasized the importance of adhering to the guidelines laid out by the Election Commission of India. He personally interacted with members of the polling teams, directing them to execute their duties diligently in accordance with the established protocols.
