Jharkhand High Court to hear PIL on Jamshedpur Industrial Township on May 30

Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand High Court is set to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding the designation of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) as an industrial township on May 30. This PIL, initiated by Right to Information activist Sadan Kumar Thakur approximately three months ago, has been deemed worthy of consideration by the High Court. Thakur has expressed dissent over the decision to designate the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) area as an industrial township, viewing it as erroneous. In his petition, he has challenged this designation and deems it inappropriate. Notably, Tata Steel is poised to play a pivotal role in the envisioned industrial township, with the Deputy Commissioner slated to serve as its chairman. Should this designation proceed, it is anticipated that the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) area will be supplanted.
